Sqare of Toplica  heroes is a space that has its own cultural and historical heritage. The proposed solution reflects the spirit of the city with all its specifics and habits, based on the rich historical heritage and harmony with the existing cultural heritage.

It is located in the central city zone, so the main goal of the project is to significantly improve the use of public space, both functionally and aesthetically, as well as to connect with the inherited characteristics of the place, the habits of the population. The solution includes redesigning the area of ​​the square into a space intended for pedestrians of various age groups, enriched with green areas and water surfaces, with complete relocation of the existing parking along the pedestrian zone into a newly designed underground garage.

A clear and recognizable whole of the town square was created with a monument to Toplica’s heroes and a fountain as central elements. By creating the monument of Toplica’s heroes as the dominant element and opening the possibility for seeing the monument from different parts of the Square, the importance was given to its monumental values ​​through the environment, paving and lighting. The aim was to connect and unite the previously divided zones into a single space of the Square.

With the aim of creating a pleasant and humane environment adapted to the city’s residents, respecting heritage and inherited values, the proposed solution sought to maximally preserve existing greenery and further enrich it with better quality green areas, seedlings of green and decorative plants. The space is additionally enriched with greenery and water as a building element.
